If your website isn’t responsive, whats the point?

If you’re American and an adult, you probably have a smart phone. It’s awesome right? You can play fun games, check out Facebook and Twitter constantly and because of smartphones, its okay to ignore whatever is in front of you! I love this, I use my iPhone and iPad way more than I use my computer and I’m even a college student.

But few things in this modern world are more frustrating than a website thats impossible to use on any of my different screens. I want the information NOW! Not in 2 minutes NOW!

So why is this even a problem? Responsive web design has been a term since at least 2010 and that was four years ago and the web moves fast. So the technology isn’t the problem, the people usually aren’t the problem, its the darn businesses that don’t know how to present themselves!

The business world mostly runs on Microsoft which means it going to be behind. Its a fact. So that sucks. I guess it is some what the technology fault, but people could totally change that. Ahem, get a mac. But I digress.

Basically, the internet is a new scary place for most businesses and good number have embraced it and said “hey, lets see what we can do” and those companies have seen amazing results and shifted how and why they are growing so well. The one that haven’t, however, are the ones with a table based website that uses flash and other awful implementations of dead web technology.

I say we change all of this and really move on and make the web a more beautiful place. With all the content management systems available now, its crazy to think its too hard or say you don’t know how to start. You can literally have a beautifully responsive web site and not have the faintest idea how to code1

I know that web design is a pain and most people consider it a necessary evil but it doesn’t have to be like that! Most web designers are ready and willing to work with you to make your web site more beautiful. So call someone up (me) and make something happen! Technology will not hold you back, we can do pretty much anything. So really lets go ahead and make the web a more beautiful place. Enough with old, ugly, hard-to-navigate websites. Lets move on.
